Why I’m Running

I’m running because it’s time for New Leadership to the County Commission. My years as a civic leader in Pinellas County have only strengthened my belief that real change in this country still comes from the people. It is your voice – our voice – that must be heard in the halls of government, and I am running to bring that voice into the County Commission.
I’ve spent the last several years working within the community to make Pinellas County a cleaner, greener, and better place to live and work. I have seen people come together to do amazing things for their communities, and I have also seen that too often, our government can be a step behind, if not unresponsive. I am convinced that we can do better. I believe that this county is ready for an independent, energetic, forward-thinking Commissioner – someone who is eager to learn, determined to help, a proven team player, and focused on the nuts and bolts of solving problems.
When I am your County Commissioner, I will work hard on practical solutions to our economic and budget woes. I will bring fresh ideas about job growth, energy efficiency, affordable housing, and better transportation. I will continue my work to protect our environment and resources such as Brooker Creek Preserve. And I will always listen and be accountable to you.
Real change in this country still comes from us, the people, and we have an historic opportunity to vote for change this year from the top of the ballot right down to your local officials. My candidacy represents a refreshing step away from politics as usual because I believe it is your voice – our voice – that must be heard in government again. I will bring New Leadership to the County Commission that is responsive and accountable to you, and together we will make real progress in Pinellas County.
Please join me in this campaign for New Leadership! Sign up to lend a hand, join me on the campaign trail, come by the office, and let me hear your thoughts about the future of the Pinellas County. I am here to listen, and I am here to work for you. I may be new to the halls of government, but I am not new to working with people and getting things done.
